Today was a proud day. Today was the day a logo I designed appeared on the front cover of the Guardian’s G2 supplement. Needless to say I popped out and bought a copy, and will be framing it and hanging it on the wall of the Instadesign studio. You can read the article here.
Of course, I can’t take the limelight here – it’s Jonathan ‘Ozzie’ Oswald’s hard work and perseverance that has got him and his brand into a national newspaper – but there is something quite heartwarming about having been a part of that. I’m really proud to be part of the amazing journey The Hip Hop Chip Shop is on, and can’t wait to see what’s around the next corner for them… they are clearly going plaices.
I had a huge amount of fun making this early 90s style music video, from imagining the dodgy Channel 9 style low budget European TV show ‘Muzik Time!!’ and coming up with ridiculously cheesy graphics, to painstakingly mimicking the effect of an old VHS tape that’s been recorded over a few times. Credit to Luke Glover for shooting the video and Pete Cannon for producing the track.
In April 2012, Radio 1 DJ Charlie Sloth announced he needed a logo designing. I had a couple of hours spare one afternoon so I took up the challenge and created this design which I sent through. Charlie is a busy man though and it looks like he still doesn’t have a logo. Help us catch his attention by re-tweeting us!
Pete Cannon is a producer and DJ who is in the process of skyrocketing to fame. The styles of music he is involved with are very varied, so he wanted a logo that didn’t fit in to any one of the visual languages associated with certain genres, but stood on it’s own, simple, clean and understated.
Pete is a friend as well as a client, and as such I’d like to encourage you to have yourself a little listen to some of his spectacularly good music below:
Update: I wasn’t wrong when I said Pete was skyrocketing to fame… have you heard of Rizzle Kicks? Yeah, thought you might have – well Pete has produced a couple of tracks from their new album, one of which, Lost Generation, is currently charting! Here’s the video:
I'm really proud of the website that Henry has made me! I think it looks really professional and it's easy for someone to move their way around in order to find out about various aspects of my business. I'm excited to use this now as a platform for 'phase 2' of my business. As well as bringing various technical and design skills to this project, Henry has been a thoroughly lovely person to work with. Thank you for all the hard work, Henry, and for helping my business out in this way!
I can't underestimate the value of Instadesign's work and customer support. I would not have got Thrive Therapies started without it! The designer listened to my unskilled ideas, created what I suggested and then made something far far better - always balancing listening to the customer vs their expert knowledge of logo design. Worth every penny and more!
